Cookie policy

Vehigo only uses the cookies the site needs to work: no audience measurement or advertising cookies, no cookies from another site. That is why no banner asks for your consent. This English version is a translation provided for convenience: if it differs from the French version, the French version prevails.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small file that the site stores in your browser to remember something from one page to the next: for example, that you are signed in, or the language you have chosen.

The law allows cookies that are strictly necessary for the service you request without your consent. All others require your prior consent: Vehigo uses none of them.

2. Vehigo’s cookies

All of them are set by vehigo.be itself and are only used for what is described here.

adonis-session	Purpose: Recognises your visit from one page to the next, for example once you are signed in. Set from the first page.	Duration: 2 hours, extended with each page
A random name (identifier of your visit)	Purpose: Contains, encrypted, the data of the visit: the sign-in, the protection of forms and the messages shown only once, such as “Message sent”. Set from the first page.	Duration: 2 hours, extended with each page
XSRF-TOKEN	Purpose: Protects forms against forged submissions from another site. The page’s scripts read it to send it back. Set from the first page.	Duration: 2 hours, extended with each page
remember_web	Purpose: “Stay signed in” to the pro dashboard or the private seller dashboard, without retyping your password or, if two-step verification is enabled, your code. Set only if the box is ticked when signing in, and deleted when signing out.	Duration: 30 days
locale	Purpose: Remembers the language chosen, French, Dutch, English or German. Set only when you choose a language (FR, NL, EN or DE), or, on the demo site, when you open it with the “Try the demo” button on vehigo.be, in the language of your page.	Duration: 1 year
conversations	Purpose: Keeps, encrypted, the personal links of your conversations with sellers, 20 at most, to show them to you under “Messages” without an account: only the site can read it. Set only when you write to a seller or open the link of a conversation. You remove a conversation on the “My conversations” page. 3. Statistics without cookies

To show sellers how many times their listings have been viewed, the site counts visits without cookies or any other storage in your browser. How it works is explained in the privacy policy.

4. Other storage in your browser

The site uses no tracking pixels. Apart from cookies, it only stores in your browser your favourites, your open chat windows and, for garages, a technical note.

Your favourites: when you tap a car’s heart, the site keeps in your browser’s local storage, under the name “vehigo:favorites”, the numbers of the listings you have set aside, 100 at most. They stay in this browser, on this device, without an account, until you remove them or clear the site’s data in your browser. To display the “My favourites” page, your browser asks the site for the up-to-date listings; the site does not keep this list. It is a service you request yourself: it therefore does not require your consent.

Your chat windows: when you open or minimise a conversation in the chat window at the bottom of the screen, the tab keeps in its session storage, under the name “vehigo:dock”, the numbers of those conversations, and nothing of what they say, to find them again if the page reloads. They are erased when you close the tab. This is a service you ask for yourself, so it does not require your consent.

A technical note: when a garage goes to Stripe’s payment page, the tab keeps a note so that the page displays correctly on return; it is erased as soon as you are back on Vehigo.

5. Third-party sites and services

Vehigo’s pages load nothing from another site: no advertising, no video, no map, no social network button. No third party can therefore set a cookie on them.

Some links lead elsewhere: WhatsApp, directions in Google Maps, a garage’s website, the Car-Pass certificate and, for garages, Stripe’s payment page. These sites apply their own rules.

The icons at the bottom of every page lead to Vehigo’s profiles on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube. They are plain links: the page loads nothing from these networks, which receive nothing until you click.

The “Share” button of a listing or a showcase offers WhatsApp, Facebook and your messaging and email apps. These too are plain links: the service you choose receives the address of the page and applies its own rules. A copied link stays on your device.

6. Deleting or blocking cookies

You can delete or block Vehigo’s cookies in your browser settings, under “Privacy” or “Cookies”. Without them, you can still browse the listings, but you cannot sign in to your dashboard or submit a form.
